SQX to Speak at the BMA National Fixed Income Conference in Nashville

SQX is heading to the Bond Market Association's 2026 National Fixed Income Conference! Our CEO Tim Tatum will be there, and Todd Spencer, our Head of Technology, will speak on the "Data and Pricing Challenges in Key Fixed Income Asset Classes" panel on Friday, November 6, at 9:15 a.m. The conference will take place November 5-6 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

The panel

The session looks at how new data sources, evaluated pricing, and modern infrastructure are changing transparency and valuation in fixed income, both for dealers pricing risk and for asset managers marking and reporting their portfolios.

Todd is expected to focus on the parts of the market where pricing data is hardest to come by, such as structured notes, alternative investments, structured credit, and fixed income derivatives. Many of these instruments rarely trade after issuance. When there's no recent trade to point to, a price is only as good as the inputs and reference data behind it.

Along with running technology at SQX, Todd leads our structured notes business, which covers both evaluated pricing and reference data.

A new name for the BDA

This year is also the first National Fixed Income Conference under the association's new name. In July, the Bond Dealers of America announced it was rebranding as the Bond Market Association and broadening its scope to include asset managers, technology firms, and market infrastructure providers alongside the dealers and banks it has long represented. The association plans an in-person relaunch at the conference on November 5.

That's a good match for what SQX does. Pricing and reference data for hard-to-price securities matters to the dealers who distribute and make markets in them, and just as much to the firms that hold, custody, and report them.
