The Securities Quote Xchange (SQX) entered the data transfer business July of 1997. We discovered a problem the securities industry was having in sending and receiving broker/dealer generated security quotes. These prices were being sent via faxes, emails and telephone calls. These end-of-day prices were being used to calculate mutual fund net asset values. The accuracy of hand written faxes and misinterpreted telephone conversations raised the question about the actual true valuations of these securities. Another problem arose that since these prices were being delivered in the form of old technology, these prices had to be re-keyed into a database. The fund managers were looking for a way they could receive all their quotes in one file.

Hence, the birth of SQX. We developed a sophisticated Internet software program and database that would allow broker/dealers to price securities on our web site and then submit them electronically to their fund client's pricing analysts. From beginning to end, these prices can be streamed out of a dealer's database and linked to the funds accounting system, supporting the move to STP (Straight Through Processing). Major financial institutions across the country are utilizing SQX's products to speed collection of daily prices, maintain reliable audit trails and reduce resource costs associated with gathering securities information on a daily basis.

SQX has recently developed a similar delivery system for Swaps, a synthetic investment used for hedging portfolios and other assets.
